This summer, join Southbank Sinfonia for an unforgettable experience in the exquisite Tuscan hill-town of Anghiari. For many friends and supporters, our annual residency at the Anghiari Festival is the highlight of the year where orchestral, choral and chamber music abounds from every piazza, church and cloister.
Highlights from the Festival programme will include Schubert’s lyrical fifth symphony, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and the ever-popular Coro Maratona where singers from Britain and Italy come together with the orchestra to perform Mendelssohn’s Song of Praise.
We are joined by friends old and new, as Vox Musica return for a baroque concert this year taking place in Anghiari’s central Propositura church, the Parliament Choir joins forces with the Coro Maratona and special guests the Allegri Quartet perform side-by-side with Southbank Sinfonia players for Mendelssohn’s impassioned Octet. Alongside all our evening concerts are a whole host of lunchtime and early evening chamber concerts where you can enjoy works by Gershwin, Piazzolla and Mussorgsky among others.
